#CIJSummer Investigative Journalism Conference is UK’s only training conference with an emphasis on investigative skills. We offer a mixture of talks, demos and hands-on classes which are designed to equip journalists and anyone interested in investigations with up-to-date investigative methods and tools.

Talks and Training Proposals

We are accepting submissions of talks and training proposals for the #CIJSummer 2024. We would welcome proposals on new, innovative or emerging investigative practices from journalists, researchers, experts and technologists.

Financial Journalism Courses at #CIJSummer 2024

Back by popular demand: Understanding Company Accounts - a four-part course taught by a forensic accountant Raj Bairoliya will demystify the jargon and teach you about the companies' motivation to massage earnings; their profit and loss accounts and balance sheets; funds flow statements and the small print (often the most interesting bit of the whole document).

Keynote: Post Office Horizon Scandal

We are delighted to welcome Rebecca Thomson, who broke the Post Office scandal while working as a reporter at Computer Weekly in 2009, and Tom Witherow, who did extensive coverage of this story when he was business editor of the Daily Mail and Richard Brooks from the Private Eye, who covered this scandal for the magazine as our keynote speakers at #CIJSummer Conference 2024.
