#CIJSummer Investigative Journalism Conference is the UK’s only training conference with an emphasis on investigative skills. We offer a mixture of talks, demos and hands-on classes which are designed to equip journalists and anyone interested in investigations with up-to-date investigative methods and tools.

#CIJSummer Conference 2024 is now over.

#CIJSummer Conference 2025 will take place on 26-27 June at Goldsmiths, University of London.

Paul Foot Award Winner and Nominees Speak at #CIJSummer 2024

The 2024 winner of the Paul Foot Award, Tristan Kirk, the Evening Standard's Courts Correspondent will talk about his award-winning investigation into the Single Justice Procedure, a secretive court process where hundreds of thousands of people are convicted each year in private hearings.

Poonam Agarwal to Deliver the 2024 CIJ Gavin MacFadyen Memorial Lecture

Indian investigative journalist Poonam Agarwal will deliver this year's Gavin MacFadyen Memorial Lecture: Election Integrity: the Indian Electoral Bonds Scam on Wed 3 July. The Gavin MacFadyen Memorial lecture was established in 2017 after the death of our founding director, investigative journalist Gavin MacFadyen.

#CIJSummer and UK General Election: Changes to the Timetable

We have made some minor changes to the timetable on Thu 4 July to allow more time for people to cast their votes in the UK General Election. The conference will start a bit later: 10am instead of 9:30am.

Keynote: Post Office Horizon Scandal

We are delighted to welcome Rebecca Thomson, who broke the Post Office scandal while working as a reporter at Computer Weekly in 2009, and Tom Witherow, who did extensive coverage of this story when he was business editor of the Daily Mail, and Richard Brooks from Private Eye, who covered this scandal for the magazine as our keynote speakers at #CIJSummer Conference 2024.
