Tabu Butagira

Presently the Managing Editor of Nation Media Group-Uganda (NMG-U), Tabu is an alumnus of both Chevening Scholarship and Fulbright (Hubert H. Humphrey) fellowship.

Uganda’s pioneer David Astor Journalism Award winner on which he had work placement at The Times of London, Tabu has near two-decade journalism experience, most of it as a Reporter covering politics, security, diplomacy and investigations.

He is invested in mentoring young-and-upcoming Reporters, both in and outside the newsroom, and guest-speaks at university Journalism schools.

Following a call for pitches, 10 journalists will be taken through an in-depth course with modules such as introduction to environment crime and environmental law, Introduction to climate change, investigative journalism and the environment and the cause-effect relationship: Does climate change lead to environmental crime or vice versa?
