Solomon Serwanjja

Solomon is a Ugandan investigative journalist and the Executive Director of the African Institute For Investigative Journalism (AIIJ).

The 2019 BBC Komla Dumor award winner, Solomon has executed collaborative projects with BBC to produce a ground breaking documentary on drug theft in public health facilities which generated debates and policy action.

He has an incremental experience spanning many years in investigative reporting, news anchoring, policy analysis, budget tracking and health rights advocacy. He has also previously served as Uganda correspondent for KTN News in Nairobi focusing on accountability, transparency, corruption in the health sector, politics, human rights and good governance.

Following a call for pitches, 10 journalists will be taken through an in-depth course with modules such as introduction to environment crime and environmental law, Introduction to climate change, investigative journalism and the environment and the cause-effect relationship: Does climate change lead to environmental crime or vice versa?
