RuAssets: Searching for Russian and Belarusian politically exposed persons

RuAssets is a platform which uses open source information to uncover affiliations of companies and people from different parts of the world with Russian and Belarusian politically exposed persons (PEPs). It can also search for ties across the former USSR countries, and highlight connections to individuals under sanctions, terrorists, and propagandists.

This workshop will provide practical examples of using the tool in your investigative research, to identify links between companies and people with Russian and Belarusian PEPs.

Access to the RuAssets platform for journalists and researchers is free.

The platform has been developed by YouControl, a Ukrainian IT company that offers information services, based on open data.

This is a demonstration of the tool with an option of hands-on learning. For the latter – please fill the form below to get free access to the platform.

Technical Requirements

If you wish to actively participate in the workshop, you will need to bring a laptop and complete this form before the 28th June. YouControl will then create an access account for you, with which you can perform searches and participate in the session.

Walk-ins are welcome, but will only be able to observe the demonstration.
