Intro to Information Security for Journalists

Worried about digital threats to journalists? Ever been trolled or harassed online? Ever thought you’d love to work with a whistleblower or sensitive information but wouldn’t know where to start?

With this two hour course you can go from muddling along online, to implementing a solid introductory foundation in information security to protect yourself and your sources.

Learn how to improve your personal security and the security of people you communicate with by understanding threat assessments, safer web browsing, end to end encrypted communications and passphrase management.

This two hour class is designed as a comprehensive introduction to information security and source protection. The class will help you to understand what InfoSec is, why it matters and the risks of using digital technologies. It introduces basic strategies and tools to improve personal security and the security of people you communicate with.
