Adam Oxford

Adam is a highly experienced journalist in the fields of technology and international development, telecoms, IT in education and more. He is passionate about open data and citizenship issues as well as the African startup scene.

Adeolu Adekola

Adeolu joined the CIJ to manage its Open Climate Reporting Initiative (OCRI). Through his decade-long experience in project management, information technology, accountability in governance, civic engagement and investigative journalism, Adeolu has successfully facilitated media training and investigative story projects covering a wide range of big issues from education to migration and health.

Akintunde Babatunde

Akintunde is a Programme Manager with extensive experience in international development, public policy, civic technology, climate change, and media innovation. He is currently the Director of Programs at the Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development in west Africa.

Daniel Lutaaya

Daniel is an Investigative journalist with years’ experience in TV and radio news. Founder and CEO of Uganda’s first 24 hour online multimedia news service, News 24/7, he has produced various investigations that have touched the nation, invoked debate, and stimulated change in policy.

Fatou Jeng

Fatou Jeng has 7 years of experience in climate change policy and advocacy, community development, and gender equality work. With a master’s degree in Environment, Development, and Policy at the University of Sussex, She is the founder of Clean Earth Gambia, Board member of Plant-for-the-Planet International, and Policy lead on gender and climate change at the UNFCCC Youth Constituency, leading several projects on community resilience to climate change, resulting in her recognition as one of the most influential climate activists from Africa.

Godson Ikiebey

Godson is a sustainable development researcher and advisor. He was a founding Research Fellow of the Knowledge Economy Group; a think tank that conducted research on the knowledge economy in Nigeria. He is interested in the interplay between sustainability strategy, sustainable innovation, sustainable value creation and sustainable socio-economic development.

Jonathan Stoneman

Jonathan Stoneman is a freelance trainer specialising in data journalism. He has been working with data since 2010. Before that he worked at the BBC – as a reporter, producer, editor of output in Macedonian and Croatian, and finally as head of training at BBC World Service.

Jubril Adeojo

Jubril is the Co-founder at OneWattSolar, a clean-tech company in Africa. He is also the Co-founder/Managing Director at SMEFUNDS Capital Limited, where he led the consortium that set up the $100million Nigeria-Green Energy Fund programme that is backed by the African Guarantee Fund.

Lina Yassin

A Sudanese climate journalism and development consultant, Lina has experience working on climate change communications and journalism projects across the MENA region. She worked for 5 years as the Operations Manager at Climate Tracker where she implemented a series of journalism fellowships and training on climate change and climate policy across different countries.

Mary Stewart

Mary is globally and locally recognised as an expert in climate risk and energy management strategies. In 2017, she was chosen to represent the Business Council for Sustainable Development Australia on the innovation and research, development and demonstration task force of the UNFCCC’s Technology Executive Committee.

Mojeed Alabi

Mojeed is an experienced reporter with a demonstrated history of excellent delivery skilled in investigative reporting, news sourcing, and building brands. He is a media and communication professional with a BA in English focused in English Language from Obafemi Awolowo University and Masters in Diplomacy and Strategic Studies (MDSS) from the University of Lagos (UNILAG).

Nompumelelo Mtsweni

Nompumelelo Mtsweni works with data and other multimedia elements to produce meaningful stories and tools that aim to drive positive impacts in society. At Oxpeckers she works as a data wrangler and trainer, focusing on environmental crime data for the #WildEye tool.

Olumide Idowu

Olumide is a co-founder of the International Climate Change Development Initiative (ICCDI), a non-governmental organisation that aims to produce climate-smart generations throughout Africa while also tackling development disparities.

Raymond Mujuni

Raymond is an investigative journalist in East Africa currently working with Nation Media Group as the head of the Current Affairs Programming and show Host for the Fourth Estate program. He is also Deputy Director at the African Institute For Investigative Journalism (AIIJ).

Roxanne Joseph

Roxanne Joseph is a data journalist based in Cape Town, South Africa. Her focus is on environmental crimes. She manages several Oxpeckers tools, #WildEye and #PowerTracker, and has trained journalists in Africa, Europe and Asia to map, track and report on wildlife, green energy and other environmental crimes.

Saul Daniel Ddumba

Saul is a seasoned Climate Change and Environmental Science Specialist with over 16 years’ international experience in research, training and examining policy issues linking climate change to a number of themes.

Solomon Serwanjja

Solomon is a Ugandan investigative journalist and the Executive Director of the African Institute For Investigative Journalism (AIIJ). The 2019 BBC Komla Dumor award winner, Solomon has executed collaborative projects with BBC to produce a ground breaking documentary on drug theft in public health facilities which generated debates and policy action.

Stuart Tibaweswa

Stuart is a Kampala-based Ugandan documentary photographer. His work often focuses on marginalized communities, their relationship to wider society and seeks to contribute towards correcting misrepresented narratives.

Tabu Butagira

Presently the Managing Editor of Nation Media Group-Uganda (NMG-U), Tabu is an alumnus of both Chevening Scholarship and Fulbright (Hubert H. Humphrey) fellowship. Uganda’s pioneer David Astor Journalism Award winner on which he had work placement at The Times of London, Tabu has near two-decade journalism experience, most of it as a Reporter covering politics, security, diplomacy and investigations.

Tobi Oluwatola

Tobi is an executive with over 16 years of experience in media, energy, finance, and policy. He is currently the Executive Director of the Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development (CJID), a West African media innovation think (and do) tank.
