Polina Bachlakova
Polina Bachlakova is a Canadian freelance journalist based in Copenhagen whose reporting primarily focuses on feminist issues. Her work appears in Al Jazeera, the BBC, openDemocracy, Unbias the News, taz and more, and has been used by organisations like Human Rights Watch as part of their advocacy work. She is a Fellow of 2024’s European Collaborative Journalism Programme and a Journalismfund grant recipient. In addition, Polina is a Board Member at sex-positive association Bedside Productions, and previously served as the editor-in-chief of queer print publication Bedtime Magazine.

Digital Investigations: OSINT, Trade Data and AI

The new digital methodologies allowed each to chase down important stories from major gaps in flood support funding from the Nigerian government, through sanctions evasion in arms trafficking to Russia, to the exploitation and abuse rife within platforms such as OnlyFans.
