Digital Investigations: OSINT, Trade Data and AI
Three panellists talk through the innovative methods they used in recent investigations. The new digital methodologies allowed each to chase down important stories from major gaps in flood support funding from the Nigerian government, through sanctions evasion in arms trafficking to Russia, to the exploitation and abuse rife within platforms such as OnlyFans. Best practice, advice and potential pitfalls will be highlighted in this session.

Elfredah Kevin-Alerechi
Elfredah Kevin-Alerechi is an investigative journalist, AI expert, technologist, and media innovator. With a decade of experience, she focuses on uncovering environmental and social injustice, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Edoardo Anziano is an Italian investigative reporter at IrpiMedia, where he covers organised crime, drug trafficking and sanctions evasion. He holds an Erasmus Mundus Masters in Journalism, Media and Globalisation from Aarhus University, Denmark and the University of Amsterdam.
Adeolu Adekola
Adeolu Adekola joined the CIJ to manage its Open Climate Reporting Initiative (OCRI). The initiative has reached beneficiaries in 58 countries and counting (across Africa, Asia and the Americas), with reported successes that have included making communities more climate-resilient, and reducing the vulnerabilities of local populations to climate change.
