Oxpeckers Team Join #CIJSummer

We are delighted to welcome our new partners Oxpeckers Investigative Environmental Journalism. Based in South Africa, Oxpeckers track, map and investigate environmental crime.

Nompumelelo Mtsweni and Roxanne Joseph will come to #CIJSummer Conference in London to teach the tools Oxpeckers developed to investigate environmental crime.

Nompumelelo Mtsweni

Nompumelelo Mtsweni works with data and other multimedia elements to produce meaningful stories and tools that aim to drive positive impacts in society. At Oxpeckers she works as a data wrangler and trainer, focusing on environmental crime data for the #WildEye tool.

Roxanne Joseph

Roxanne Joseph is a data journalist based in Cape Town, South Africa. Her focus is on digitally-enabled wildlife trafficking and illicit financial flow. She manages the Oxpeckers tool, #WildEye, and has trained journalists in Africa, Europe and Asia to map, track and report on wildlife and other environmental crimes.
