Mads Brugger

Mads Brugger is an experienced journalist, editor, non-fiction author and film director. Three times Sundance Film Festival nominee and winner of The Grand Jury Award at Sundance 2010 with feature length documentary The Red Chapel, he has also twice been selected for New Directors New Films at MOMA in New York. His film The Ambassador opened the IDFA in Amsterdam 2012 and his feature fiction movie The St Bernard Syndicate won Best Script and Best Actor at Tribeca in New York 2018. At Sundance 2019 he won Best Director for the documentary Cold Case Hammarskjöld, which was picked up for US distribution by Magnolia Pictures. Most recently, he wrote and directed the real life documentary spy thriller The Mole, which premiered on BBC4 in October 2020, and won the Danish Film Academy award Robert, for best documentary of the year.
