Jake Charles Rees

Jake Charles Rees is a curator and Head of the Logan Programme. In this role he manages the Source Protection Programme for the CIJ, as well as the biannual Logan Symposium, Closed Circuit webtv series and Logan Talks public lecture programme. Outside of his work for the CIJ, Jake was an inaugural fellow at the AKO Storytelling Institute at the University of the Arts in London (UAL); and teaches journalism to artists, designers and film-makers at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), the Royal Academy of Art in the Hague (KABK), University of Fine Arts (HfBK), Dresden and UAL.

Film screening: Disaster Capitalism + Q&A

This years OXFAM scandal brought to light some serious questions for the international development community. At a time when aid agencies and charities are prone to seemingly widespread sexual abuse and impropriety, best-selling author and journalist Antony Loewenstein’s latest film Disaster Capitalism investigates whether the industry is exploiting development and aid funds to profiteer from growing inequality and poverty.
