Train-the-Trainer climate reporting bootcamp in New Delhi

DataLEADS is organising a comprehensive two-day, in-person training bootcamp aimed at improving the understanding of the criticality of climate change reporting and its influence on addressing urgent climate-related inquiries with significant ramifications on policy-making. This workshop will bring together a diverse group of 16 participants from various parts of India.

Class duration: 2 days

Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the environmental and climate change and how to report and communicate it to others using different investigative tools and techniques such as cross border reporting, data verification, artificial intelligence (AI) and factchecking. issues and the significance of understanding the climate crisis. Once trained, the trainers now called ‘Climate Coach’ will organise training workshops for newsrooms, press clubs, journalism and educational institutes to train the target audience across India.

Dr. S. Sreekesh

Dr. Sreekesh is an Associate professor at the Centre for the Study of Regional Development, School of Social Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, India and also a member of expert committee of 2 National missions of Climate change namely National Mission of Strategic Knowledge for Climate Change and National Mission on Sustaining the Himalayan Ecosystem.

Amitabh Sinha

Amitabh Sinha is Deputy Editor at The Indian Express. He has been a journalist for 23 years, and has previously worked with Press Trust of India, Reuters and BBC. At The Indian Express, where he has spent more than 15 years, Amitabh writes mainly on climate change and science, two very vast fields that cover a range of topics.

Chandrani Sinha

Chandrani Sinha is an independent multimedia journalist, currently based in Guwahati city of Assam India. She covers the eastern corridor of India along with all the North-Eastern states including West Bengal and Odisha.

Syed Nazakat is an award-winning Indian journalist, media entrepreneur, founder of DataLEADS. He leads DataLEADS in New Delhi, as well as oversees its outreach across Asia with different partners, including with Google News Initiative.
