Tools and Techniques for reporting Climate Change in Latin America
CIJ’s Latin America partner CONNECTAS is hosting an online panel discussion x-raying how to tell holistic climate change stories from a journalistic perspective, based on facts, data, and collaboratively in Latin America.
The panel features editors and journalists from three countries – Venezuela, Uruguay and Colombia, who were involved in the training of ten reporters and oversaw the execution of six investigative stories by journalists from Argentina, Bolivia, Mexico, Peru, Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador.

Ana Lucía Duque Salazar
A member of the CONNECTAS Editorial Board since 2018 and an instructor for the CONNECTAS-Martin Baron Chair for editor training as well as other training programs, Ana is a Colombian journalist with nearly 3 decade of experience.
Maximiliano Manzoni
Maximiliano is an Uruguayan journalist specialising in climate change and a member of #CONNECTASHub. He is a Gabo Prize winner and an alumnus of the Oxford Climate Journalism Network. He investigates climate disinformation in Latin America for Periodistas por el Planeta and Climate Tracker.
Grisha Vera
Member of the Editorial Board of CONNECTAS and its Hub, Grisha was the coordinator and reporter for the investigative team of El Pitazo de Venezuela. Apart from training on how to cover climate finance and environmental crimes in the Amazon for Planeta CONNECTAS, Grisha has also conducted investigations on monitoring public resources and violating children's rights.
