Climate Investigations Course to be delivered in four regions for OCRI Year Three
Following a successful pilot in Nepal and six regions covered in Year 1 and 2, the Open Climate Reporting Initiative (OCRI) will in its next run cover four regions namely Latin America, Anglophone Africa, Francophone Africa, and South Asia till September 2025. OCRI Year 3 will among other things, witness the development and the delivery in each region of a Climate Investigations Course (CIC). The CIC is a new 4-module course being developed by the CIJ in English that will become part of its scheduled course offerings online from Q1 2025. Region-tailored versions of the course will first be delivered during OCRI Year 3 across the four regions.
OCRI’s model of collaborating with partners in each of the region who will work closely with the CIJ to deliver hands-on training will continue. Apart from the development of the CIC and delivery of a region-tailored version of the course, CIJ and OCRI-partners will organise story lab workshops and support the publication of investigative projects towards driving influential change.
The choice of the regions is based on the identified opportunities that will best enable further work following the review of OCRI’s Y1 and Y2 partnerships while also taking into consideration other factors and lessons from the previous implementing years.
