CIJ and CJID collaborate across 5 Anglophone West Africa countries

The Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development (CJID) is partnering the Centre for Investigative Journalism (CIJ) in implementing a programme that is aimed at strengthening media and civil society organisations’ capacity to report climate change in 5 West African Anglophone countries namely: Nigeria, Ghana, The Gambia, Liberia and Sierra Leone.

Across the identified countries, the CJID will implement a skill survey, hold workshops to build the capacity of journalists and CSOs to report and advocate for positive responses to climate issues and carry out fellowships for journalists reporting climate change to produce in-depth reports on climate change mitigation, and adaptation and resilience.

The partnership is part of activities earmarked for the year one delivery phase of Open Climate Reporting Initiative (OCRI) and makes CJID the second organisation working with the CIJ across the Anglophone Africa region.
