Moves to ban encryption in the UK and Europe, together with the ominous role that platforms are playing in the distribution and control of journalistic content everywhere, make even more pressing the need to think about how best to protect investigative reporting in the internet age. In the US, a renewed federal crackdown on whistleblowers is making conversations between journalists and their sources more difficult than ever. In the UK a legal assault on investigative reporting is circumscribing our freedom for manoeuvre all the time.

From AI to spies, from the Epstein files to what’s happening in Hungary, the 6th CIJ Logan Symposium brings the world’s most interesting investigative journalists together for a single day’s discussion and conversation at the Barbican Centre in London. Speakers include
