Introduction to InfoSec
Worried about digital threats to journalists? Ever been trolled or harassed online? Ever thought you’d love to work with a whistleblower or sensitive information but wouldn’t know where to start?
This introductory course provides a solid foundation in information security to protect yourself and your sources. Learn how to improve your personal security and the security of people you communicate with by understanding threat assessments, safer web browsing, end to end encrypted communications and passphrase management.
The class will help you to understand what InfoSec is, why it matters and the risks of using digital technologies. It includes introductions to:
- threat assessment training
- safer web browsing
- end to end encrypted communications
- an introduction to metadata
- passphrase management
Tansy will be at the conference all day and happy to answer questions in the breaks.
