Gerry Wagschal

Gerald (Gerry) Wagschal is a former Senior Investigative Producer for the Investigative Unit at ABC News in New York. He produced investigative reports for the ABC News programs Good Morning America, World News Tonight with David Muir, Nightline and 20/20. He had been with ABC News for over 17 years and has over three decades of experience working in network and syndicated television. In 2021, Wagschal and his team won an Emmy Award for their program about the Boeing 737 Max fiasco called “Falling from the Sky,” which has aired twice on the 20/20 show and is also streaming on Hulu. He is a former New York State-licensed private investigator. He obtained his J.D. at Fordham Law School. He is licensed as an attorney in New York and New Jersey.

Born in Montreal, Canada, Wagschal started his career as a newspaper reporter for the now-defunct Montreal Daily News. He also worked as a reporter for the New York Post. At various times, Gerry has worked for television news shows that were influential in shaping news as we know it today, including A Current Affair and Celebrity Justice (New York Bureau Chief).
