Workshop: Scientific data and research on climate adaptation
During the Coda.BR Conference, Open Knowledge Brasil is holding a workshop about Scientific data and research on climate adaptation as part of the CIJ’s Open Climate Reporting Initiative (OCRI).
The workshop will take an approach to intersections in the context of eliminating inequalities in global carbonisation cycles, based on data collected by the Iyaleta Research Association, a scientific institution in the north and north-east of Brazil recognised as a permanent observer of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
Class duration: 1.15 hours
Attendees will learn how to consider data collection committed to humanity, with attention to the lives of people in urban centres and the challenges of constructing journalistic narratives to promote the elimination of racial, ethnic, territorial, gender, generational and social inequalities in the world.
With the 28th UN Conference of the Parties (COP28) approaching, each participant will develop a story focused on their local journalism context.
Referred as the main data journalism event in Latin America, the 8th edition of the Brazilian Conference on Data Journalism and Digital Methods (Coda.Br) is held on 18 and 19 November 2023 at the Álvaro Alvim Campus, São Paulo. It features tracks of workshops, panels, keynotes, flash presentation sessions, and networking opportunities for participants. The Open Climate Reporting Initiative (OCRI) will be present at five activities.
