Workshop on Reporting Climate Change Takes Place in Mexico City

From 31 August to 2 September 2022, 13 reporters and editors who cover environmental and/or climate change issues in Spanish-speaking countries in Latin America participated in a 3-day training workshop organised by Fundación Gabo.

Participants were experienced professionals with a proven record of high-quality publications on environmental issues from 11 countries.

The workshop was led by Glòria Pallarès, journalist and Fellow 2021-2022 of the Rainforest Investigations Network (RIN) at the Pulitzer Center, and had  the participation of other guest speakers, such as Thelma Gomez from Mongabay, and Joseph Poliszuk from ArmandoInfo. Participant’s experience was also put to use — they were asked to share their knowledge with others as much as possible in a horizontal conversation .

This activity will be followed by an OCRI panel on Climate Change reporting during the Festival Gabo, to take place in November, in Medellin, Colombia.
