Three more OCRI partners emerge for year two

The engagement of two more partners in the MENA region and one in South Asia wraps up the inception stage for the implementation of OCRI year 2. This brings the total number of partners in the three regions to ten.

The Management and Resources Development Initiative (MRDI) having received government approval will implement the Journalist capacity on climate change reporting in Bangladesh. Journalists from national and community news outlets will be trained and mentored to produce investigative and in-depth stories separately.

Based in Sudan, the Nas Active Network will interrogate the intersection of conflict and climate change. Specifically, the intervention will target journalists and activists to equip them with knowledge and tools to improve reporting skills in and produce stories related to climate change and environmental challenges in the context of the conflict in Sudan.

With the UN Climate Change Conference of Parties (COP 28) convening from 30 November to 12 December 2023 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Press Accelerate will be empowering Gulf reporters with a deep understanding of climate journalism in the UAE and the broader regional context. Through workshops and mentorship, participating Journalists will gain skills to better report climate change in the UAE.
