Training and grant opportunity for journalists in Senegal, Niger and Côte d’Ivoire to investigate climate change

The Centre for Investigative Journalism’s partner on the Open Climate Reporting Initiative (OCRI) project, Institut Panos Afrique de l’Ouest, has launched a call for applications to journalists in Senegal, Niger and Côte d’Ivoire who are interested in investigative reporting on climate issues.

Twelve (12) journalists (men and women) will be selected in each of the three countries. They will participate in a series of in-person capacity building workshop on investigative journalism techniques and climate challenges, scheduled for mid-August 2022, in their respective
respective countries.

Once trained, the journalists will have the opportunity to apply for a grant to conduct an investigation on a topic related to climate change in their country or in Africa, with the support of a mentor.

Application deadline: Friday, July 08, 2022, at 23:59 GMT
