Call for Pitches: Open Climate Reporting Initiative in Anglophone Africa
The Centre for Investigative Journalism, London in partnership with the Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development (CJID) is inviting journalists and editors from across West Africa to submit story pitches under the Open Climate Reporting Initiative (OCRI).
We are looking for journalists, editors and newsrooms interested in pursuing collaborative cross-border investigations and welcome pitches that reflect cross-border investigations especially in environmental crimes, non-accountability in environmental governance, and climate injustice. This call is open to all formats and mediums of reporting, including electronic, online, and print.
Successful applicants will be invited to a story-lab workshop where their story ideas will be refined by a faculty of experts and seasoned investigative editors. The story-lab will also provide journalists with the knowledge, insights and skills to utilise investigative tools for cross border investigations. Following the story lab, participants will also be inducted into the CJID Cross-border Climate Reporting Network.
Successful applicants will be notified by email if they have been selected. Applicants who do not hear from us on or before 27th August, should kindly consider their application as unsuccessful.
Deadline to apply: 22 August 2024.
