Call for Applications: Journalists From 8 Francophone African Countries to have Advanced Training in Climate Investigations
CIJ’s Francophone Africa partner Norbert Zongo Cell for Investigative Journalism in West Africa (CENOZO) has launched a call for applications for the selection of twelve (12) journalists from French-speaking West and Central Africa to take part in a series of activities as part of the year three of the Open Climate Reporting Project (OCRI).
Journalists from 8 countries (Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, Democratic Republic of Congo, Senegal and Togo) can apply and benefit from a series of OCRI-supported capacity-building activities, including a story-lab workshop, mentoring during the investigation and legal editing, all of which implemented together with CENOZO.
Selection criteria for the participants include: proven experience in journalism (written press, online press, radio or television) and in climate investigation; have an investigative story idea on climate change; be motivated by the idea of improving or extending their experience in environmental and climate investigation; have a strong interest in collaborative work on a transnational scale; demonstrate a commitment to investing time and energy in a collaborative investigation.
