#CIJMasterclass 2021 Alumnus Investigates “Racism for Sale” in BBC Africa Eye Documentary

Runako Celina, who took part in the #CIJMasterclass 2021, has helped to expose a Chinese video-making industry that exploits vulnerable children across the continent in her first documentary for BBC Africa Eye. The documentary, reported and investigated by Runako and Henry Mhango, was released on 13 June 2022, and has since been shared by celebrities such as Lupita Nyong’o and Maria Borges. Alongside her work as an investigative journalist at the BBC, Runako is Co-Founder & Managing Editor of Black Livity China, the largest Black-owned platform documenting the experiences of people of African descent both in China and in relation to China.
