101 Places to Investigate Your Country

Would you like to find information about your country in foreign databases, public records and institutions? Are you looking for hidden story gems? This Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) session will equip you with useful knowledge and links how to track reliable information in international online reading rooms, databases and platforms beyond traditional national sources. You will learn how to track across borders your countrymen’s spending for lobbying on the USA and the EU, who and why is suing your country, are international foreign investors established or operating in your country involved in disputes with local entities, are the foreign nonprofits reliable, are there fraudsters and scammers around you who you did not know about. The session is especially useful for journalists who work or are planning to work in countries where the local authorities restrict public information and finding other sources of reliable information is crucial.
