About the CIJ Summer Conference

The CIJ Summer Conference is UK’s only investigative journalism training event with an emphasis on teaching investigative skills. We offer a mixture of talks, demos and hands-on classes which are designed to equip journalists and anyone interested in investigations with the up-to-date investigative methods and tools.

2017 Keynote Speakers

Anabel Hernández - is a Mexican journalist who has confronted head-on – at significant personal risk to her and her family – corruption and the narcotics trade in Mexico. Anabel delivered the inaugural Gavin MacFadyen Memorial Lecture

Michelle Ye Hee Lee - is a reporter at The Washington Post's famous Fact Checker. 'Been fact-checking before it got cool'. See her experience of fact-checking the US Presidential campaign. 

Aron Pilhofer - James B. Steele Chair in Journalism Innovation at Temple University, University of  Minnesota and former Executive Editor of Digital at the Guardia and before that Associate Managing Editor for Digital Strategy at The New York Times. Aron will share his expertise of bringing digital and data journalism into newsrooms.
