Taking a look at not only the demise of the BNP and EDL but the newly re-emergent Ultra-Conservative scene, as well as the new British Democratic Party that aims to replace the BNP.

Gerry has enjoyed a career as a investigative journalist, working in TV research, reporting and production. Having left school at 15 he went from being a young Trade Union organiser before becoming one of the founding team of Searchlight magazine in May 1964. He has specialised in exposing corruption in the police service and municipal politics and the failing of British intelligence in two TV programmes for Channel 4. One of which was banned, only to have the ban lifted after all-party and widespread public support came to its rescue.

Gerrry has a MA in Criminology from Middlesex University and was awarded a honorary degree from Northampton University in 2011 for his lifetime's work in defending liberal democracy and fighting facism. He works on with projects with the university's Radicalism and New Media Research Group.

His specialisation has been to create and run Searchlight's successful Intelligence and Analysis operations. His work has taken him to North America, Mexico, Scandinavia Western and Eastern Europe and the Middle East.
