Digital Truths: Investigative Journalism and Open Data Workshop

Discover tools, tips and techniques for investigative journalism and designing with open data in this half-day workshop.

What to expect
How can we use data that is freely available to everyone to tell a different story? Led by the Centre for Investigative Journalism, this workshop will provide a hands-on introduction to finding, interpreting and visualising new stories.

Following an introduction to the practice of citizen-led journalism, learn how to find and interpret open data, whether on government spending or the actions of other public bodies. Alongside providing practical tips and tools, this workshop will also look at strategies for visualising data in a more appealing and accessible way.

This workshop is open to designers, aspiring writers, journalists and those interested in how digital technologies are creating new opportunities for citizen-journalism.
