Should We Abolish Accountability?

A report by Eileen Chubb from Compassion in Care in response to The Law Commission’s review of the law Misconduct In Public Office (MIPO).

There is a risk that MIPO is likely to abolished unless we can raise public awareness on the importance of keeping the only law that provides accountability to the public when those who are in a position of power betray the trust placed in them.

The problem is that MIPO has not been used in many cases where it should have been against powerful people because the general public have been unaware of it. At the end of this report readers will be asked to give your opinions.
