CIJ Fellows Investigate El Salvador's Corporate Water Grab

    Writing in the Guardian this morning, CIJ Fellows Claire Provost and Matt Kennard, uncover the diversion of El Salvador's natural water resources away from quenching the thirst of the local population, to be consumed by multinational drinks companies and turned to profit.

    The recently elected Salvadoran government are currently trying to pass legislation to ensure that only surplus water supplies are sold to corporations, but officials are expecting strong opposition from some sections of the legislative assembly.
